EK 1914 D marked 1914 ek2 opinions

I am looking at a D marked ek2 for sale.My problem being is that I have nothing to compare the core or stamp too. This guy wants a hefty price for this(for a 14 ek2).

Its just that I have never in my short collecting career seen one with the stamp on the outside edge of the medal ring. Its not that I dont dought its possilble,its just better to ask

what other people think.I see that Tom from Florida(GO BUCS) has maybe one so hopefully he reads this.The pics of the front and back are from his site,the maker mark pic is what he emailed me.

Bill and Micha,thanks alot ,but I got a question for you micha!

I remember when you told me a jws was hard to find .I have to agree, I got lucky with mine and I have seen only a couple since.

So as far as unknown makers go what is hard to find?Its like a hunt for me.

What seems to be unique about both of these examples is the "D" maker mark is stamped on the outside of the ribbon ring. Just an observation. . .
