Korean language help

Ihave a friend (retired ROK colonel - artillery) coming in tomorrow for a visit. I'm sure he'd be glad to helpo if anyone has questions on ROK awards.

I have recently accuired a ROK award document, and my Korean is non exsisitng. I would like to have a full translation so I know what I have exactly. I see this topic is pretty old but I can give it a try!

My Korean friend lives in Seoul, and I 'm in Florida, so we're not in frequent correondence. Still, if you can scan the document, perhaps he might give us some idea of what you have. His English is sometimes a little interesting.

Most of the current medals are on the Korean government's site.

If you get the regs, I'll translate them it may take a bit but we'll see what comes up

Hopefully he has the old regulations as well, that way we can cover both old and new :)

Theres a guy out there in cyber land trying to write a book on ROK awards. Is that perchance you? I know they changed several times, esp. in the early chaotic times. Id love to know more, esp. about Police medals.

And lo, suddenly, I got an email.  The sites are all in Hangul, but they appear to be the current awards system.  Maybe Rogi can give us some idea of what they contain.

I've looked over two of the sites and they seem to be talking about recent issues (at least the photos and captions are of such) of the Korean Orders, I don't see any photos of the older issued Korean orders/medals. I'll try and take a look in more detail when the weekend hits, as my time is tight due to school.
