Gordon Williamson Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 This just arrived. Bought it having seen an image and thinking it was quite an impressive document, listing not only his EK and Wound Badge but the fighting he was involved in, and his units.
Gordon Williamson Posted December 8, 2007 Author Posted December 8, 2007 What I wasn't quite prepared for was the size of the thing. I assumed it was A4. Ehm, actually, it was quiite a bit bigger as you can see next to a Pickelhaube. Printed on stiff board. Very pleased with this as you can imagine
Chip Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Gordon,It's a beautiful thing. I like the artwork and it has a interesting story as well. Congratulations.Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Indeed... imagine being buried by an artillery shell and being gassed at the same time... must have scared the hell out of him.
Bernhard H.Holst Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Hello Gordon.Thank you for showing this document.Of note is his early discharge date of 9.Nov.1917. I wonder if the injuries suffered did not cause him to be invalided from the service.Bernhard H. Holst
Steve campbell Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Beautiful document. I would love something like this for my collection.
