militaria0815
A very unique bar in my eyes, has anybody an idea who the bearer might have been? Thanks! Edited December 8, 2007 by militaria0815
Paul C
The bar has an enlisted man's long service medal on it so there is no chance to identify the bar.
Guest Rick Research
VERY unusual Colonial Medal bar-- filled in with black paint, or enamel?--rather than the normal embossed lettering! Only the second time I have EVER seen the firefighting Cross at the end on a medal bar-- is that from the Rhineland, about 1934-36? I can't even remember where I saw the other medal bar. SOMEBODY needs to do a good reference book on these "local" awards!
militaria0815
Right, it is the Rhineland firemen-medal. The Kamerun bar is filled w black paint.

militaria0815
I don?t like the battle clasp. It is not the kind it should be.BerndThese clasps were private purchased and they exist in several patterns and variations. The source and purchase price make a fake impossible. Bernd D
These clasps were private purchased and they exist in several patterns and variations. The source and purchase price make a fake impossible.Sorry, but nothing makes a fake impossible!!Of course you are right, the clasps had to be purchased by the owner himself and there are several manufactorers. But this typ is far beyond WWI and not the kind according the rules, i.e. as it is written down in the foundation. They should be the same kind as for the China and Southwest Commemorative medal. Bernd D
Right, it is the Rhineland firemen-medal. The Kamerun bar is filled w black paint.I think, I found a similiar bar. It could be the same kind as on the medalbar.
