Hello Steve,

I Looked through my books and didn't find a match. I don't know alot about these little guys but the head and knees seem to be going in the wrong direction. I'll keep looking.

Head left - Knees Right

Head right - Knees Left

Hi always thought it was French !! i purchased it as such but guess what it was bought in the US !!!!

lol..how early do you think this is as its pretty large approx 5" by 5" , i would imagine a bell top shako type hat ??

The painting says(from the link) that the uniform is from about the 1827 time period? It is definitely a Shako insignia, as shown in the image I posted.

The wings are UP on the American ones and DOWN on your badge.

Good catch Rick... I was focusing on the lower half of the eagle, and the facing direction. Back to the digging...
