Paul R Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 It is funny how some items can return to a collection. I sold this eagle a few years ago, thinking that it was a standard Police Eagle. I did not know that the Luftschutzpolizei used sleeve eagles until after I sold it. Well, after it traveling through a few owners, it finally returned home, where it belongs! Paul
Snoopy Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Hello PaulNice to hear, that you got it back. It certainly belongs in your collection. It must be a quite rare sleeve eagle.Snoopy
Paul R Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 Thanks Snoopy!! I have seen a few around, but they are not too common. I really like that it is well worn!!

W.Unland Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 (edited) Dear Paul,The green LSP eagles are rare in themselves, but the THREE FEATHERED are very rare. This particular maker seems to have produced three and six feathered variants. Here is my 3 feathers. Same pattern, different colors. It is unknown why this variant was made, but there are a few period photos showing it being worn.Regards,Bill Unland Edited February 18, 2008 by W.Unland

Paul R Posted February 18, 2008 Author Posted February 18, 2008 Here is a photo from e-bay showing it in wear:Thanks for the information, Bill. The LSP eagle of mine looks like it served in the field for the entire war. It is really beat, but has a lot of charactor.
