Guest Rick Research
No reason why he COULDN'T be wearing the straps of a current assignmnet with the uniform of his previous permanent posting! Here's the other extreme-- Feldwebelleutnant Curt Beyer is wearing his COMPLETE old uniform, right down to unchanged straps, even though he is here displaying his brand new February 1916 awards as a platoon leader in 9th Company/Reserve Infantry Regiment 241 ! His fellow warrant officer ex-career NCO buddy Max Seltrecht served in the same company and yet lookee their boards. Beyer may have gotten away with his "permanent" boards as a Virtual Officer, but I doubt an Unteroffizier could have appeared with the wrong straps! ccj
Rick,It looks like Feldwebelleutnant Curt Beyer has slip on boards that are sewn down. If so that pretty cool. My Hessen Feldwebelleutnant has slip-on boards that have been sewn down very neatly and tightly on the shoulder seem.Do you have any other photos of enlisted, NCOs, officer substitutes that are wearing insignia or uniforms that are not correct to their unit and/or their uniform?Nice photos are hard to come by. It seems you guys with more time behind you have pretty nice photo archives.

ccj
Can anyone tell what's on his boards? Maybe the person who owns the original can see more detail.
