Hugh Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 G'day....herewith an insignia I think is pre world war 2, pre-communsit Chinese. Any views? Designation? Circa?Any help greatly appreciated. DrewDefinitely ROC / ChiNat. I don't know about the blue / white flash, but the rest is the classic insignia of the Ministry of National Defense. I have one just like it except it has a wreath around and five-petaled plum(?) blosson on top.

Ed_Haynes Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Yes, certainly seems post-1950 Taiwan. Probably some sort of commendation thing, but that is just a guess. So far, there are no sources (in English at least) on Taiwan's awards.

Hugh Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Thanks Hugh.........do you know the exact designation of your item?DrewSorry, no,Some TW friends gave it to me with a frame of commissioning pennants (I was a USN officer) as a gift when I left the territory. However, I'd bet a little money it's just the MND insignia. Best,Hugh
hc8604 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Yep It is the MND insignia. Probably both badges were worn by MND officials. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/taiwan/mnd.htm
