EK 1914 New EK1 in case-opinions sought

Hi

I just picked this one up and would like to know if this model of cross is considered to be wartime manufacture or later.

comes complete in its case with a label on the lid that I cannot make out.

any thoughts

hard to say whether or not this is wartime manufacture,

although one would think with the double posts that it

is for placement on a uniform.

i would suspect the label is from the jeweler who

prepared the cross and rigged up the case.

you have a MOST HANDSOME piece there, one

that i would have in my collection proudly.

this variety in the imperial era awards is what i

find so enchanting. the case is at least as

interesting as the cross.

I would guess the case is a TR era piece and coverted for this cross. Perhaps a '30s piece?
