perce Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Hi Either WW1 or Reichswehr although I'd go with WW1-no Eagle and Swatika on the hats or visible on the uniform-maybe someone can be more specific Cheers Perce
Guest Rick Research Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Late World War One. The driver is wearing the leather jacket of the Kraftfahrtruppen. The Feldwebl in back is too small and blurry to see anything other than he is wearing Gardelitzen on his collar and Feldwebel chevrons on the left sleeve of his M1915 tunic.

Guest Rick Research Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Collar patches. In the Second war every member of the German army wore them, but in the Imperial army there was no insignia on collars for most units. Some technical specialist branches also wore the Guard collar patches as a sign the Kaiser favored their specialties.
Chip Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 I think perhaps the reason that many of the troops of the technical branch wore the "Garde Litzen" is that these specialties grew out of the Versuchsabt. of the Garde Pioniere.Chip
