VtwinVince Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I like it, almost looks like the "muffin crown" you see on the blued-core variants.
Guest Darrell Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 The cross is a textbook KO. However, the case looks like WW2 vintage.
Mike K Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Hi,Yes, a genuine example of the most common type of KO core - a nice example!I agree, the case looks more like TR period.RegardsMike
taucher Posted February 9, 2008 Author Posted February 9, 2008 What's the difference between a WWI and TR box?
Mike K Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 What's the difference between a WWI and TR box?Construction methods and materials are the biggest differences. The spruhfilz covered insert as on your case was purely TR - not Imperial. That's the first and easiest give-away. This is also a halb-etui, which is quite uncommon for Imperial cases but common for (imo) later war TR EK cases.RegardsMike
