coldstream Posted February 25, 2008 Share Posted February 25, 2008 I recently picked up this Chassepot bayonet locally but am puzzled by the fitting on the scabbard. I have had a few of these before but have never seen this loop on a scabbard, It appears to be contemporary with the bayonet and is very well executed and does not appear to be a crude field modification.
