He was training on U1015 when it was lostin a training accident on 19.05.1944 only 14 men were saved the rest were lost he was a lucky one.He then went to U1002 and went on patrol to the English channel from 20.02.45to 09.04.45 .He then had some rest and went skiing.Best Regards Richard Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

How ironic that he was off doing a bit of R & R cross country skiing as the Reich was in it's final death throws. BTW, Geilo is still a popular ski resort today.
