Guest Rick Research
This exceptionally fine undated private portrait of an artillery unit Politruk (Commissar Senior Lieutenant) probably dates from the mid 1930s from the covered buttons front flap on his salt-and-pepper light shade gimnastyorka:A command officer would have had gilt braid edging on his rank tabs, which also identifies this somber fellow as a political commissar. There is a tiny faded private photogapher's stamp on back which no amount of what I can do with my technology will make give up its location.
