Douglas Jr. Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Hi,I would like to hear your comments about the authenticity of this PAB. Thanks in advance,Douglas
dond Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 A fake. Used to be called the 2 dot fake but the makers have since improved it by removing the 2 dots at the bottom of the grass by the wreath.
Chris Boonzaier Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Its nice to see fakes without maker marks nailed..I remember when you could tell fakes because 1) They were bad quality2) They were good quality and maker marked, but "wrong" for that makerThat good quality Non maker marked are being recognised as fakes is great.I remember speaking to what is probably Americas BIGGEST dealer... he said to me "All fakes have makers marks" which left me wondering why clever fakers do not make them without marks...
dond Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 The majority of fakes are unmarked imo. This conversation must have been a while ago.
dond Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Worse IMO is that fakers watch these forums and correct thier wares.
Douglas Jr. Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Don and Chris,Thanks for your replies! In fact I heard the same phrase from a local dealer few years ago... it goes the same as "if [an EK] is a three-piece construction then it is good for sure". Douglas
