Interesting thread. So if this guy was navy, (and thus really has the wrong type of cross) would it be reasonable to assume he would though, use the correct navy ribbon colour- blue ?I'm hoping so, as I just happen to have a little bit of blue ribbon that might suffice. That looks like the supposed blue "navy" ribbon on an "army" cross and a multi-coloured "army" type ribbon on a "navy" cross. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Chip Posted April 18, 2008 Share Posted April 18, 2008 Supposedly there was a rhyme and reason to the ribbons on these medals, but in actuality, it seems like there is little consistency. I recently saw a bar mounted J?ger REK that had the "correct" green ribbon, but the medal was the "Treu dem Regiment" rather than the "Treu dem Bataillon". This example shown by Stogie just adds more credence to the notion that the many types of ribbons were just as bewildering to the original medal bar makers as they are to us.Chip Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
