Chris Boonzaier
The only conclusion that I can come to is it is a mini for French soldiers who got the MM in WW1? From size, style, ribbon etc iz matches my French Minis....
Tony
Hello Chris,Never seen one like that before but I'd say you've come to the right conclusion. Would a Frenchman wear the medal with the obverse as the King's head or do you think he'd prefer to show the more attractive reverse side.Tony

Tony
No sun here, it's night time and winter (only 24?C during the day) but I do have a slight tan which although off topic, is rather an achievement for an Englishman.
PKeating
That's a nice piece! Last year, I had to get some French miniatures for Patrick Churchill - ex-N? 4 Commando - from Arthus Bertrand and, of course, they are smaller than British miniatures so they were going to look a bit odd mounted with his British campaign stars and medals. Another veteran remembered having some French-made miniatures of British medals back in the 1950s but we couldn't find any. So we mounted his French awards together and he wore them under his British miniature medal bar. PK
