Bryan Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 What is this Commemorative medal from 1941-1981?It looks like made out of silver.
Mister No Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 HiI dont know.I see that medal for first time. Made from silver, hallmark 925.
Gordon Craig Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) Bryan,It probably commemorates the 40th anniversary of the founding of the "Peoples Liberation Army" (Jugoslovenska Narodna Armija). Germany attacked Jugoslavia on the 6th April, 1941 and Tito, urging Jugoslavs to resist the Germans, assumed command of The Peoples Liberation Army on 4 July, 1941. The 825 hallmark would certainly suggest a silver medal as well as the amount of wear because of the high silver content. Nice loking medal. Regards,Gordon Edited April 30, 2008 by Gordon Craig

Gordon Craig Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 SasYu,Thanks for the correction, I'll amend my reference. Would you please post a picture of the official medal comemorating the 40th anniversary of the People's Liberation Army. I have a reference that shows the ribbon for the 40th Anniversary medal but no picture of the medal.Regards,Gordon
