Gordon Craig Posted April 29, 2008 Share Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) Bryan,It probably commemorates the 40th anniversary of the founding of the "Peoples Liberation Army" (Jugoslovenska Narodna Armija). Germany attacked Jugoslavia on the 6th April, 1941 and Tito, urging Jugoslavs to resist the Germans, assumed command of The Peoples Liberation Army on 4 July, 1941. The 825 hallmark would certainly suggest a silver medal as well as the amount of wear because of the high silver content. Nice loking medal.
