"251 divisions" has them leaving for Courland... but then lists them with the 3rd RD on the Western front. When DID they arrive at the 3RD? Did they do a short stop in Kurland before heading west?ThanksChris

Christian J Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I've now received the regiments geschichte. They were fighting around Mitau (Jelgava) until 13/5-17 when the left for Flanders.

The book is quite extensive with fallen soldiers and in some degree awards, so might be possible to find some info on him. Best Regards, Christian

Could not find any awards given during the last months of 1916. The only ones listed are those of the high officers. Sorry.
Glenn J Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Chris, according to Kraus: Handbuch der Verbände und Truppen, they were subordinated to the Infanterie-Brigade-Kommando der 77. Reserve-Division from 26 December 1916 to 2 January 1917, the 77. Reserve-Infanterie-Brigade from 2 to 5 January 1917, the Generalkommando z.b.V. 60 from 6 January to 4 April 1917 and with 77- Reserve-Division from 5 April to 2 May 1917. Regards Glenn
