Kriegsmarine Torpedoboot Wolf picture-postcard

Hello everyone,

While this is not an exotic item, I was quite happy when the picture-postcard from Wolf arrived by mail a few days ago. This is an early example with the letters 'WO' on the hull, later replaced by 'WL'. Yet, I have not been able to find the reason of this change? Why was this necessary?

For service onboard these you were awarded the Destroyer Badge because at first the E-Boat did not yet exist. If you see pictures of guys like Klaus Feldt (Oakleaves) in E-Boats, he is wearing the first verson E-Boat Badge but also the Destroyer Badge. Very nice postcard.
