Ed_Haynes Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Loya Jirgah 1343 MedalAwarded for the 1965 (C.E.) Loya Jirgah. The legend makes that much clear. Beyond that, . . . ???
Ed_Haynes Posted October 11, 2005 Author Posted October 11, 2005 Independence Medal 1309Extremely tentative identification. For Afghanistan's "independence" in 1931?

Ulsterman Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 come again? What exactly is #3?The Lion issued medals?
Dave Danner Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 The obverse says at the top "service" and below the coat of arms afghaniya. The reverse refers, in the part I can make out, to Ghazi Amir Amanullah, the King of Afghanistan from 1919 to 1929. The date at the bottom is 1298, which is 1920 A.D., IIRC
Ed_Haynes Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 Ed,can You say something about this medal.I have one too (did I ever put it up here?), and have never been able to get much beyond what Dave has contributed. Afghan kingdom awards are, if anything, even more puzzling than PRDA awards!
