Peter J
I assume this badge is related to some fire fighter unit, any ideas?cheersPeter
FireMedals
PeterJ,From the helmet design I would say it's Austrian, but nothing I've seen before. What is the size and what does the back look like?FireMedals
Guest Rick Research
I haven't seen one of those helmets with the aluminum "octopus arms" bolted on top in years-- isn't that a CZECH design?
Peter J
I didn't pay too much attention to this badge until I realized it had a typical Souval post-war set-up i.e. cut-out folded catch. It's a struck piece, 59.85mmx46.80mm and extremely thin, only 1.63mm at the edges and 2.88mm in the center! It would be great to learn about the identity, but even more the date of institution.cheersPeter
FireMedals
Peter J,I just realized I did not post a photo of why I think this has an Austrian connection. There may not be one, but it was the first thing I thought of when I saw your photo.FireMedals
