    Hi All

I search the web and found that the price range of Lifesaving Medal: Prussian M1833-1918 is very large. I found a deal ask for 160 euro for one but I found another one ask for 450 euro for one.

Could anyone tell me why did they have such large different in price?

    Thanks

    very easy.

There were 4 official variants of this medal over the time.

    Best regards

    Daniel

... and lots of non-official versions in very different quality.

    Regards, Komtur.

Given that this medal was awarded for lifesaving at the risk of the recipient's own life, it has always been undervalued-- probably because it is so :speechless: PUNY looking.

I would look for one on a medal bar or with its award document.

If you search on "lifesaving" on the top of main page (for the whole website-- some may be in a Third Reich section or under Individual Research etc etc) the various threads where we've shown what we have will come up.

    Hi Rick

    Thank you.

I searched but I just found something talking about different variations in between WWI and WWII. For Prussian M1833-1918's variations, I can't found.

    Cheers

There are two main sources in German about these medals (first in a journal, second in a book):

    Lothar Tewes

    in "Beitr?ge zur brandenburg-preu?ischen Numismatik" Heft Nr. 2 1995

"Die preu?ischen Rettungs- und Erinnerungsmedaillen von 1833 bis 1918"

    Friedhelm Beyrei?

"Rettungsmedaillen Deutscher Staaten 1782-1918" Norderstedt 2006

    Best regards, Komtur.
