Leutwein
Nice pic!I mean that it could only be the GSWA-medal in bronze for fighters.Best wishesLeutwein
HeikoGrusdat
Karsten, that would make the most sense of course.... but it looks a bit different, especially the ribbon..... :wacky:
Leutwein
Hello Heiko,I have no problem with the ribbon. Here a NCO of my collection. The same ribbon, only the red strikes are missing on your pic. Probably the flashlight is the reason for. What do you think that it could also be???Best wishes Karsten

Wild Card
Gentlemen,A minor but interesting, at least to me, detail. Being singly mounted, I would assume that both medals are the pieces actually awarded; and as such would have come from the same source. Yet, the ribbons are mounted in opposite directions.Does anyone have an explanation for this and is there a recognized correct direction for the ribbons to be mounted on these older style bars?Riley1965, GSWA = German South West Africa.Regards, Wild Card
Guest Rick Research
In general practice, left side of a double ribbon "up" on a normal medal bar mounting, and right side "up" on a Frackspange. That is, the unobstructed first ribbon side should be in the place of highest precedence.I don't think I ever saw aanything REQUIRING that--0 just custom. But a lot of outfitters were dyslexic, or inattentive! And if I had 1 RM for every exception.... :catjava:
