Gordon Williamson Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I've lately seen a lot of perfectly good KM badges with spurious maker marks added but to be fair I can't see anything wrong with this one. Just the fact that B&NL are not usually linked with the manufacture of KM badges would call for some caution.I have encountered other"not previously seen" maker marked KM badges during research for the book so I'd have no real reason to suspect this one just because the mark hasn't been encountered before. The naval flak badge seens to have been made in relatively small numbers by other makers too going by thier relatice scarcity (Wiedmann, Funcke & Bruninghaus etc) so another maker who made them in small enough numbers for them to be rarely encountered seems logical enough.

Gordon Williamson Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Here is what appears to be a match as far as die characteristics, pin fittings etc are concerned, but unmarked.Think this kinda confirms that the badge type itself is original, just leaves the issue of whether the B&NL mark is a spurious one added later to an original badge.
