    That's the typical variation to find these "V" markings-I think I've got a flat and a convex one,both stamped with the "V" under the pin.

    To add to your thread, one of my recent acquisitions. I mistakenly thought the "V" was an "A". . .

    I observe the "800" stamp is below the catch on yours and in the middle of the reverse on mine. There was another example with the "800" stamp on the top side of the reverse.
