notned Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Hello Gents,I was wondering if there has ever been a thread started where we all got to gether and compiled a list of the different Honour cross maker marks?Or does anyone know if there is a list of Known makers?I have several Intersting maker marked medals and wondered about the manufacturers and where they were in germany and what,( if possible) were the numbers of these that were produced.RegardsPaul
Chris Boonzaier Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 A good collecting field indeed....and as I have always said... the award docs for these... BORING... but everyone seems to overlook the fact that most of the sigantures comefrom party officials, Allgemeine SS, higher police officers etc. etc. etc.THAT would also be worth a study on its own...
Stogieman Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Well, once upon a time, there was a list of all known MM's for HK's in the Imperial Forum @ WAF. It appears to have been deleted in one of the many "purges" over there.......... How about we start our own?!

Guest Rick Research Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Don't forget to mention any of the insanely rare actual bronze ones rather than bronzed steel. Talk about hen's teeth variants! I think Godet was the only one to turn up with Real Bronzes, though they also made the usual bronzed steel ones.
notned Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 Rick, these widows crosses, now how was this blackening applied?as i came across one which was parade mounted, and it seemed to be painted..so i thought it was fake and steered away!so were they painted?CheersPaul
