gingerbread Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008  HiAgain, i ask for opinion about this KM Officer Visor cap on a famous site!!!It's very hard to find a good one!!!I don't like The chinstrap buttons, they are not KM!!!http://www.german-historica.de/cgi-local/m..._2661&ln=enWhat is your opinion?RegardsBen from Cherbourg
Gordon Williamson Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 You are correct, they are not KM buttons. Many KM caps were made in occupied countries however ( France, Norway etc) and do not always follow the exact style of manufacture of German made caps. I've seen a genuine KM cap made in France, with French naval buttons.Everything looks OK on the outside, good visor, chistrap, insignia etc. Difficult to comment on the interior with so much removed. The stiffening band on issue caps is usually celluloid or reinforced buckram type mesh. This one appears like pasteboard as used in Army/Luftwaffe etc caps, but also on some private purchase KM caps too.
