Paul C
My one and only bar pickup from the MAX and it is very unusual with the following medals:1. Sax-Mien NK2. RK33. Bayern reserve officers long service II4. veterans medal5. HHAccording to the rolls there were only 7 Bavarian's who recieved the SMK NK.
Ulsterman
So somebody ripped the officers cross off and replaced it with a medal? The officer's calss of SMNK was also awarded to Officer Stellvtrs. and Fldwbllts..
saschaw
The officer's calss of SMNK was also awarded to Officer Stellvtrs. and Fldwbllts..Right, and this one may even be an officer's bar. The Bavarian long service award is the LW2 and those went to officers, from what I know. At least they did in Prussia... Great bar, absolutely impressive. One of my favorite bars for years - it was sold on eBay.de years ago (my pictures date august, 2006) and I could still remember it. The last one though seems to be replaced - might have been an empty ribbon to represent an Ottoman war medal, foolishly "re-"filled with an Hamburger. Great find, nice to see it in GMIC hands. ;)
Paul C
I don't believe that the last medal was messed with. It is in there solid and nothing glows with a black light. I think the incorrect ribbon was used when the bar was put together.
Guest Rick Research
Sascha-- he wasn't a Bavarian officer--that roll is published in the triple Ernestine Duchies 1914-18 book by Yours Truly and Daniel so all the recipients are known.Soooooooo much work and we STILL have SOME books left available.
