This flask was brought back by my great grandfather (mother's side) after WW1. Does anyone have any details on this unit and where they would have served... esp after Sept 1918?

I bet he picked it up while on occupation duty in 1919, since this is the sort of discharge souvenir that would have stayed at home, hung on a wall.

Reservist R?ter served in the 4th Battery of Field Artillery Regiment 23 1910-1912.

These--like regimental steins-- have been heavily faked for decades so it's nice to have a real old one!

Thanks Rick! I really like it a lot too. The shoulder strap is a nice touch!

I had no idea that these were faked! Are they rare and highly desired these days?

Is there any known history on the specific unit? I would be great to know where it was toward the end of the war as well as any other tid bits of information.
