These two new arrivals, is actually half of my NVA collection. The helmet and belt buckle cost me the princely sum of about 40 dollars. I dont't know much about prices on east german stuff, but I thought it was cheap. I hope you like them.

Sorry about the lousy pictures of the helmet. I seem to be unable to take good pictures of helmets. If you want better pictures, let me know, and I will try to take some new.

Foam padded liner. The helmet looks like it's unused. The liner has an NVA ink stamp on the inside.

At $40.00 I would say you did ok. The buckle appears to be of the earlier type with a catch similar to the WWII German types. The helmet would be the last model issued of which there are three differing mainly in the liner although one has a different rim than the others.

The early belt buckles were very well made and are sought after for this reason. The later aluminum one really suffer by comparison.
