Gordon Craig Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 During the HUPR time, numerous statues were erected to glorify the working man. In some cases, smaller versions of these statues were created as awards to the working man. This thread concerns one of those statues/awards. Most of these statutes have been removed from their original location, although some are still in place. The statue that this award was copied from is now in Statue Park just on the edge of Budapest. This particular award would have been pesented to a Munkasor member by the Munkasor leadership. The date on the back is "1977.11" and probably indicates the award was instituted on that date. There is no award document with this piece so I can not comment further on why it would have been awarded etc.Regards,GordonHere is the statue as it presently exists in Statue Park.
