    I think we had a thread on this subject some time ago. But I can't seem to find it.

    Here is another example (recently sold) that the duke (and probably other of his compadres) kept bestowing house-orders after the war and weimar era.

    Very interresting. Do you have a photo of the back of this medal ? Is it the same as CM2 pre-war ? It's the first time for me I heard such medal still awarded to this date. We know taht Duke Carl Eduard still give some Saxe Ernestine cross with swords (on ring) or without swords to this date but nothing about this medal. Great news

    Seems the two were pals.

    I've only seen a sensationalistic documentary on the subject. I will try to get hold of the mentioned book.

    Here is the back, but can't say that I'm very experienced with these, so please enlighten me with the variants.
