scottplen Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 yes seems very new !!!! :speechless1:
saschaw Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 The combination is odd, but I like it. Rather an Oldenburger in a Bavaraian unit than a Bavarian in the Navy as he would have gotten a Prussian long service award. Or a Bavarian who got no MVK from his own king... ?
Ulsterman Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 very odd. Not impossible, but unlikely though. Competent pre-war professional NCOs were transferred to rebuilt/new units as the war went on.Last week, for example, Detlev had a group to a pre war Wrtnmbrg. NCO who made it to LtdR. in a Bavarian unit after transfer and promotion. His bar (with docs) shows a Wurt. LS medal and a Bavarian MVO4x.
