Chris Boonzaier Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Posted this a few years ago but there was no clear opinion...It seems to be made of Kriegsmetal...
Gordon Williamson Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Hi Chris,I have an identical piece. Its a definite known wartime original variant. The same maker ( going by identical materials, pin fittings etc) also made the Minesweeper, Marine Artillery and others.
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 Somehow I lost the pics... here we go....
Gordon Williamson Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Here's the reverse of the Minesweeper by the same maker. Identical fittings
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 Super!I picked it up years ago at a flea market in Cape Town to complete the Wifes Grandfathers Jacket and noone had ever seen one. The grandfather served until the end of 1945 in the British zone. He had a full set of his badges denazified to wear during service. Luckily he had 2 or three of everything, except this one.bestChris
