Good to be here.I would like to submit you this ribbon bar which came directly attached to a salty Lw four pocket tunic. Are your feelings good or bad about it ?ThanksHi!It is great to see you here. From what I can see, I dont find any faults with this ribbon bar(construction wise). I am far from an expert with these so I look forward to seeing the opinions of the more learned!Paul

Guest Rick Research Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Are there two holes in the 2nd ribbon? By regulations, that should have either a round green enamel wreath (W?rttemberg Military Merit Order-Knight) or a round gold wreath (Gold Military Merit Medal) to be in front of the 3rd ribbon for W?rttemberg Friedrich Order with Swords. As it is, the second ribbon with no wreath was for a Silver Military Merit Medal, which would follow the 3rd ribbon.Since this looks fine to me, it is probably simply a mistake made back then, late 1930s/WW2.( The Germans were not... perfect. )
New Kid Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 In fact I have not the ribbon bar with me today since I'm not at home now ; but I don't think there are holes in the second ribbon. Tomorrow I will go back home and I'll look at it closer. That's too bad if it features an incoherence ! It's not easy to look at behind the backing, but could it be more instructive by seeing the metal parts ?
Guest Rick Research Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 No no-- don't poke around under there. It appears to be a simple period error. Original but non-regulation.We see LOTS of old mistakes!
New Kid Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Would it be historically right to put this ribbon bar on a Lw tunic (flight leutnant, flight feldwebel or signals leutnant) without any other awards ? Or would I need something else ? Thank you, Renaud.
