A Missing Decoration.

Gentlemen,

Here we have a mini bar which is missing the first decoration. Judging by the pale blue

ribbon for the missing decoration and the Prussian L.S. bar, I am guessing that the

missing piece is a Prussian Crown Order fourth class without swords.

Does anyone have other suggestions?

I thought the top level civil service decoration was the REO4?

Would the CO have been given as a military merit award then or is it possibly the NCOs medal version?

This buttonaire makes me think a cracker retired NCO who termed out into a government job. The AEZ sniffs NCO or lower level bureaucrat.

There is no military award exempt the campaign medals. CO4 and AE are a common combination for elder low/middle bureaucrats.

Yup-- that's it. A "glass ceiling" career up through the ranks to the equivalent of an Oberleutnant-- so first the General Decoration Medal and then a Crown Order 4th Class.
