EK 1914 Major Konno Schruff, EKI recipient

Any info on Major Konno Schruff (received an EKI in August 1915) would be appreciated.

Jeff,

the only Schruff in the Prussian Army was one Anton Rudolf Schruff, an Hauptmann on the staff of Badisches Fu?artillerie-Regiment Nr. 14 in 1914 and then the Artillerie-Offizier vom Platz at Coblenz. Promoted to Major on 27.1.15 and eventually commander of Reserve-Fu?artillerie-Regiment Nr. 15. presumably your man?

FREAKISHLY enough-- I have not noticed ANY other such occurence during the war-- he received TWO Z?hringen Lions from Baden--

BZ3bXmE on 8 December 1914 as Hauptmann, Artillerie Offizier vom Platz Namur and then

BZ3aX on 17 April 1915 as Major commanding Res Fussart Bn 40

There is no notation about returning the first for the second!!!! :speechless1:

Ex-Seymour collection? I have Seymours' old history of the 14th Baden art. book (obtained from you Jeff) and I note he asterisked the name.

No info on provenance of the piece, unfortunately, but I'll have to check the Thiess catalog.
