lach470 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Hey gang....Not sure if I've shown this or not on here. This was acquired last summer. Love these "big blades"!! Although used for parade purposes - I'd hate to be on the receiving end of this puppy! 1/4 inch thick is serious business! Here are some pics!Rob
lach470 Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 Markings on the blade....ges.geschutz....

lach470 Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 My pleasure - glad you like it. You can see that In the display pic I added a frog to the piece. I think it adds a lot to it. Cheers!Rob
lach470 Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 I've also changed the armband for another. That one had a water stain and I sold it....acquired another in its place that is in better condition....just don't have pics of it with the hewer.Rob

J Temple-West Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Very nice, RobHave you ever tried removing the bakelite handle grips? You may very well find a maker mark. This one of mine has the ?Robert Klaas? logoBtw: if you do remove the grips, do not over-tighten the screws when replacing the grips as it could crack the bakelite.
joe campbell Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 rob-i've always liked the DRK hewers - yours is in veryfine shape!perhaps a few DRK medals/insignia are next for your display!very nice!joe
lach470 Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 Thanks guys! Glad you like it! I'll have to give it a go and check under the grips....and yes: more insignia and medals are always a possibility! The fun never stops! hahahahaCheers!Rob
all1knew Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Rob, Really a nice display with the dagger, which is about my favorite Third Reich dagger of all time. I have crushed white velvet behind some of my medals, and I must say I'm envious of that red silk/satin look. William Kramer
lach470 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 That's a very nice display you have going there with some real nice items! It's very nicely put together! THanks for sharing! Rob
