Guest Rick Research Posted February 13, 2009 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Also note that he was wounded FOUR times-- including one that put him out of action for two years in the middle of the war. There seems to have been some definite linkage between wounds and OPWs like this, "bumping up" an award that under other circumstances the lowly comrade would have been lucky to get a Red Star for as higher ranking comrdaes got the "good stuff."It is interesting that in reality there was a relationship made between rewarding wounds and OPWs since nothing in the statutes suggests that.
