Guest bobt983 Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 (edited) I recently visited the Parham control tower museum near Framlingham in Suffolk. In one of the display cases, there was a NSDAP armband that had been donated to the museum and came with provenence. It had the standard black swastika on white circular background but the main body of the armband was grey, not red. There was no black bordering top or bottom that I can remember. Does anyone have information that may help the old boy in charge? (ex- marine - but thats not his fault!)(I hope this is the right area to enter this plea - I do not have as much opportunity to visit the site as I would like)Bobt983 Edited November 10, 2004 by bobt983
Nick Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 BobI am out on the road at the moment so I do not have access to my reference books. I will see if I can identify it when I get back, but it does not sound familiar.Nick

Biscuit Brown Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 maybe its an end of the war manufacture, when materials were getting scarce
Nick Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Just a thought but is it possible that the armband has been left displayed in sunlight for a long time and the dye has faded ?
Craig Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 Just a thought but could it have been issued to a Political member of the Volksstrum ( German Home Guard ). And is in Grey for a Camoflague reason.
