Here is the cross wich started my (what it looks like => lifetime ?) addiction towards German awards.

Due to some excellent threads i tought after over 19 years being locked away (yes that is the number of collecting years) it is time that this one sees some light again

Any idea on the maker mark on the ring?

could it be S-W?

not sure, but there are a significant, although small,

number of MM's out there that i catagorize as

"undecipherable".

i'm thinking this may be one of them, although

generally a cross in hand is easier to figure out.

nice way to get started, though!

Thank you for the reply, i also tought of the "SW" but then the "S" is almost completely gone. As far as i see it now this could be :

1) SW, but the S was so badly struck that it does not appear

2) W

3) M

Wich one is most likly?, it is always fun to think about these things and its part of the collecting fun (even iff the piece does not bring on any new things and keeps his secrets for a wile )

Any more opinions on the maker mark?
