sef1962 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Another new photo, dedication on back Franz Richter ? any help with rank or unit or ribbon bar ? thanks Mark
Guest Rick Research Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 He is a Warrant Officer level (I'll have to go offline to consult rank title charts) official of the Proviantamt department--quartermaster stores and so on. Quite unusual uniform--I've never seen his "split crease" pockets rather than the normal center pleats before. Pale yellow piping with pale blue as the capband, tabs, and boards color.
Naxos Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Franz Richter, Osterfeld (cannot make out the rest). There are several places by the name of Osterfeld in Germany, I believe the abbreviation following the word Osterfeld is to specify which Osterfeld in Germany Richter is from.Hardy
Guest Rick Research Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 "i/W" any help? His IOD89 is Prussian.

The Prussian Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Hello gentlemen. Osterfeld now is a part of the town Oberhausen (north of D?sseldorf). The photo was taken in Borbeck (now a part of my hometown Essen - 10km from Oberhausen)
