Hello just got this photo are these cavalry lances at the front of the picture ? The soldier in the centre is he a seargent with EKI EKII is that a silver wound badge under the EKI ? A ny help with the unit thanks Mark

The man in the center is an officer ( you can clearly see the buckle for officer). I can't see the rank, so may be one young lieutnant or a first lieutnant. Nice photo indeed

I don't know exactly, I have seen such chevrons but I have no explanation, sorry

I think maybe for ability for fencing after looking at picture again not sure about silver wound badge thanks Mark

Yes, but the specialty arm insignia were NOT worn by officers... and yet there he is, wearing an officer's belt buckle. Weird!

The soldier next to him is a vize-feldwebel first of I was mixing up these chevrons with fencing ones now I realize the fencing ones are not as wide if the wound badge is silver are officers version the cut out type ?
