sef1962 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Hello just got this photo are these cavalry lances at the front of the picture ? The soldier in the centre is he a seargent with EKI EKII is that a silver wound badge under the EKI ? A ny help with the unit thanks Mark
Deruelle Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 The man in the center is an officer ( you can clearly see the buckle for officer). I can't see the rank, so may be one young lieutnant or a first lieutnant. Nice photo indeed Christophe
sef1962 Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Thanks Christophe what do the chevrons on his left arm represent ?
Deruelle Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I don't know exactly, I have seen such chevrons but I have no explanation, sorry YOu can do a reseach here but send a pm to Chip he probably has got the answer.Christophe
sef1962 Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) I think maybe for ability for fencing after looking at picture again not sure about silver wound badge thanks Mark Edited March 26, 2009 by sef1962
Guest Rick Research Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Yes, but the specialty arm insignia were NOT worn by officers... and yet there he is, wearing an officer's belt buckle. Weird!
sef1962 Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 The soldier next to him is a vize-feldwebel first of I was mixing up these chevrons with fencing ones now I realize the fencing ones are not as wide if the wound badge is silver are officers version the cut out type ?
