speedytop Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Hi andy,Obergefr. = Obergefreiter = PFC1. Bttr. K.S. Fu?a.-Btl. Nr. 152 = 1. Batterie k?niglich s?chsisches Fu?artillerie-Bataillon Nr. 152The signature could be Emrich.RegardsUwe
Guest Rick Research Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Obergefreiter = Unteroffizier in the foot artillery. They used this special rank, like Obej?ger = Unteroffizier in J?ger units.Emrich was Major aD Georg Karl Emrich (1876-19??), who won the St Henry Order in 1917. Thanks for posting this EK2 document-- the late Erhard Roth did not know that Emrich commanded this battalion, so that is new data for the Saxon data base.
