    Hi

    I have this entry on one of my CHWO4 winners (obviously from saxony) and I was wondering what the composition of its army was like in this period. I cannot discover regiments....

    Hauptmann und Adjutant im 2. Infanterie-Bataillon, 1858-1860 Hauptmann in der 1. Infanterie-Brigade, 1861 Major in der 2. Infanterie-Brigade ?Prinz Maximilian?, 1862 Commandeur des 11. Infanterie-Bataillons in der Infanterie-Brigade ?Prinz Georg? (1866 Oberstlieutenant);

    regards

    David

    From the 1853 Rang-Liste--

    1st Infantry Brigade "Prinz Albert" was composed of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Battalions headquartered in Dresden.

    2nd Infantry Brigade "Prinz Maximilian" was composed of the 5th, 6th and 7th Battalions headquartered in Chemnitz and the 8th Battalion headquartered in Schneeberg.

    11th Battalion with the 9th and 10th was headquartered in Dresden. Final infantry battalion in the 3rd Brigade "Prinz Georg" was the 12th headquartered in Wurzen.

    The only real oddity with numbering was that the 4th Brigade was the GUARDS formation.

    The 1853 Rank List gives birth year, date entered the Saxon army, and year of each promotion.
