reverse setup looks like typical S&L from the 30s. anyone have a catalog? did they market these (or the '14 version) in this size?

yes they did, eric, and even smaller ones,

not to mention a multitude of sizes in stickpins.

can't really comment on the '39ers, but this setup is

very reminiscent of the imperial and interwar production.

i suppose i should clarify my original question: has anyone seen a 1939 version measuring 30mm?

this example looks very similar to a type 1 style.
