Thobau Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Hello Gentlemen,I would highly appreciate your comment on this U-Boot Kriegsabzeichen. The pin on the back has obviously been fixed (or replaced?). The remaining gold finish looks old to me.Do you think it is a genuine WW2 piece? Would it be possible to determine who was the manufacruter of this particular badge? Many thanks for your help!Best regards,Thorsten
Thobau Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 Here is the back.I think it is a zinc piece.ThanksThorsten
Martin W Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Hi Thorsten, the badge appears to be the type made by Deumer of Ludenschied, maybe a variant without the cut-out swastia? The hinge and pin look original to the badge and may have broken off at some point and been re-attached,as you mentioned.Looks like a good zinc badge to me.Regards,Martin.
Gordon Williamson Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I would agree with Martin. Looks like a good original late Deumer piece.
Thobau Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) Dear Martin, dear Gordon, Thank you very much. Great information - good to hear. This miniature came with the u-boat badge and supposed to be from the same person. It looks like it was never golden colour? What is your opinion on that? Many thanks again Thorsten Edited July 28, 2009 by Thobau
