jhodgson
I have never seen this ribbon on a tunic, actually anywhere for that matter?
Naxos
I have never seen this ribbon on a tunic, actually anywhere for that matter? John, it's not an official award ribbon (perhaps from some veteran organization), but in any case inappropriate to be worn in the buttonhole of a TR tunic. Thanks, I figured that much just wondered what it was, I have never seen it before. I have the name for the tunic and there are no matches in the Ranglists. I would there would have been unless he was d.R. Not really liking the whole set-up and will pass.
Kev in Deva
Was there not a ribbon for a Freikorps Medal in this colour:- Ehrhardt, Marinebrigade, Verdienstabzeichen der II Marine-brigade Wilhelmshaven, 1920, Schnalle. jhodgson
I found it, it is most likely for the IX Armeekorps 1866-1918 Commemorative Medal and does not make sense beign worn on an Army tunic as far as I know.
Odulf
Were these Freikorps medals considered to be obsolter after 1935? Other Freikorps decorations, such as the Baltic Cross, are seen to be worn until 1945? However, medals of Veterans Organisations (like Kyffhäuser) were all replaced by the Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer.
Guest Rick Research
That is just a generic "patriotic" ribbon. What's the name, date, rank, place?
jhodgson
That is just a generic "patriotic" ribbon. What's the name, date, rank, place? It is not named on a tag, the name given does not match anyone listed prewar. The tailor tag is Berlin. Towards the ribbons beign worn, I know the Baltic Cross ribbon at least was worn until the end of the War. I have seen the Silesian Eagle ribbon worn as well.
